THQ Has Natal Dev Kits. Still Nothing from Sony’s Motion Controls

Looks like those Project Natal dev kits have been out for a while.  THQ has one, but they aren’t talking about what they are developing with it, and they shouldn’t.

However, THQ has not received kits for Sony’s motion control peripherals.

THQ Opens Austin Office UPDATES

Just four months after THQ announced 600 layoffs (24% of its workforce), the publisher has opened up a 33,000-square foot office in Austin, TX, and is said to be moving into the new quarters this fall.

Kotaku’s reports say that it is unclear if the new studio will be for Vigil Games or another THQ studio based in Austin.

Update: Gamasutra contacted THQ, and it turns out that the studio is for Vigil games.  Link: Gamasutra.com

(NASDAQ:THQI) today announced that Scott Guthrie, THQ’s executive vice president of publishing, has resigned to pursue another opportunity, effective immediately. Guthrie had been responsible for overseeing North America sales and distribution, and marketing.

Wow, SpongeBob is Ten Years Old. I Feel Ancient

THQ has just announced a new Spongebob game titled Spongebob’s Truth or Square. I am not even a huge fan of SpongeBob (give me the old Ren & Stimpy or Rocko!) but it is crazy to think that the show has been around for this long already.
