Final Fantasy VII Becomes Fastest-Selling PS One Title on PSN

Is it any surprise?  One of the most highly-anticipated, and most successful, JRPGs ever has become the fastest-selling PlayStation Original on PSN.

According to Kotaku, FFVII has been downloaded over 100,000 times since it hit the PlayStation Store on June 2nd.

Man, I kinda wanna play this one again.

I was browsing NeoGAF today, and I found in interesting thread.

Someone asked Gaffers if they would rather have a hard copy of their game or download their game.

GameStop on Digital Distribution

Digital distribution.  It’s coming. Sooner or later this will be the standard. The question, really, is when.

GameStop is betting that it will not happen for a while, according to an article by Ars Technica.  Even if it does, GameStop feels that it can co-exist with our brick and mortar retailers.

Only time will tell, and I have quite a few friends who work in retail, so I would hate for them to all lose jobs in 10 years or so.
