Hello internet stranger, or possible future employer who is the best person in the world! I’m Bernie Mota, a freelance writer and your guide here at One Bored Gamer — the Internets’ one stop place for absolutely nothing.
The truth is you see, me and a friend started this blog as a way to vent our feelings about working up the games journalist ladder or just a general brain drain blog about anything that caught our fancy that day. But now, sadly, we’ve pretty much both moved on.
Not with writing mind you. Oh we’re still doing that (regrettably maybe.) It’s just due to time constraints — life and all that jazz — we hardly have the appropriate space in our lives to contribute here. Bummer, I know. Don’t be glum as chum though, pals.
As long as this WordPress blog site exists, it will serve as a time stamp in our young careers in this day-to-day adventure we call life. Something we’ll always hold dear and look back on fondly. And so should you!(Also we might come back because we’re just that lame.)
If you want to continue along with our journey, you can find Jacob at BYTE, being the Senior Editor of their games portal (way to go!,) and as for me, I’m currently contributing to two websites, Wiinoob and PS3Maven. Of course there are our Twitters you can check out on a whim too.
For now though, I bid you a fond farewell… even though I’m not going anywhere… and it kinda silly to say all this stuff… umm… yeah…
Okay I love you goodbye!
Right now I feel like the movie Ghostbusters 2. No, I don’t mean I feel like a massive failure to an original great film (not my opinion by the way, I loved GB 2 ), but rather the point of the movie where the band comes back together, straps on the Proton Packs, and speeds away in the Ecto 1 looking for some pesky poltergeists to bust.
And the same goes for us here at One Bored Gamer; we’re back in business! (Fingers crossed.) Hooray!
What was with the dead activity on our end?
Well, sometime before E3, someone shutdown the Containment Unit and caused a big explosion over at O.B.G. Headquarters. The internet blasted thorough the rooftop like Old Faithful, windows shattered, computers and laptops were thrown everywhere, and damaged was caused to the overall foundation of the building – it’s was a terrible sight.
OK… so that’s didn’t exactly happen. But the important thing is that we ironed out some issues we were having with the website, and are back on track for the most part. So look forward to seeing a good flow of content coming soon. Hopefully.
Me and Jacob are taking a little Christmas break from the blog starting tomorrow and right into the New Year. Although you might see two special gifts from us, just in time to fill your Holiday Stockings: a special episode of the One Bored Gamer Vlog and the annual lighting of the yule log! Please stay tuned for that. (That’s if all goes to plan and we don’t accidentally go too heavy with the eggnog…) During that time we’ll both be spending time goofing off, eating chicken tamales, and playing with our spanking fresh Christmas gifts.
So from all of us here at One Bored Gamer,
Happy Holidays and have a Shiny New Year!

I have never heard of this, but apparently it’s a book series. Either way, the press release is once again below, just after the jump.
